Cool 1976 Honda CB750 Four

A good friend of mine bought this recently and figured would share.

The story is that he purchased a bike just like this one brand new in 1976. Kept it for a while and sold it with the understanding that he gets first crack at re-buying it if the new owner ever decides to sell it.

My friend ended up re-purchasing his original bike ten years ago but the second owner did not take care of it so it was too far gone for restoration.

Over the next (last) ten years my friend was casually searching for a good example and finally found one that is just like his original. As you can see from the pictures, the bike looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. The only items that the bike required so far were to rebuilt the front disc brakes, adjust the clutch, in addition to a small list of normal maintenance items. Otherwise the bike runs like a dream! It actually starts and sounds better than his original. It apparently sat without being started for 28 years and is rather unbelievable how well everything operates.

It's a hoot to drive.

Here are some pics:

those are great, classic bikes. My brother has a CB750 but (unfortunately) it's the Custom version so it's got way too much chrome for my tastes. He has ideas about modding it into a bobber or cafe bike but it would have been a much better platform if he'd gotten a 70's bike or a 750K or F.
